Origin or Ancestry
The Hym are direct descendants of Humans, the second creation of the Tonalteotlcah following their defeat of the Forebearer. As the second of their creations, the Tonalteotlcah focused less on their power and more on the race's intelligence and ability to grow. They struck the same deal with Nellayotlni to imbue the Humans and any of their creations with Souls to allow them to grow and learn as time passed, with the hope that the Humans would one day create beings of their own and maybe join with them to help slay the Forebearer for good. During the change of ages between the 5th and 6th Sun, the Humans fled Desolation in several Ark Vessels, evolving into the Hym across several generations.
Geographic Distribution
Hym live all throughout Tlamachihualpanotl, The Mooring, primarily across the surface and underground of Creation's Rest along with settlements on the Elemental Halos of Aqueous, Divius, Infernus, and Tellus. In the Aether, some Hym remain in isolated settlements across Desolation and some remain in stranded Ark Vessels that drift aimlessly through the abyss.
Related Races
Before the Hym evolved from the Humans, the Humans built the Gearborn, highly complex machines that Nellayotlni imbued them with Souls per his deal with the Tonalteotlcah. Through the use of 5th Sun Technology, some were modified into Shifters, beings that could change their appearance nearly at will, and others were modified into the Beast Heart, a collection of Human-like people with animal traits. Following their departure from Desolation at the end of the Ages of the Five Suns, many eventually found their way into The Mooring, with those that landed on Aqueous and Infernus using the last of their remaining 5th Sun Technology to modify themselves into the Aquari and the Ashlanders respectively.
Anatomy and Morphology
The Hym are the direct descendant of the race that each of the Pehanimeh used as their template to create the Cuallicallimeh. They sport smooth skin and mostly hairless bodies built up with moderate amounts of muscle. While not the fastest or strongest among the Tonallitecameh, their bodies are built in a way that allows them to simply continue onward near endlessly, so long as they have food and water. Standing in the middle of Strength and Intelligence, the Hym are remarkably average when compared to the other races.
Hym are one of the most varied races without more specified sub-groupings in coloration aside from the Dragonling. Their skin ranges from a pale white to a near tar brown and all shades between. Small spots of deeper color sometimes can be seen across the body of Hym, but are often invisible from a distance. Those of the common class, and on occasion those of nobility, are often seen receiving tattoos and other artificial markings to ornament themselves. While some groups of Hym collectivize designs and placement, most are individualized and hold value only to the one marked by them.
Beyond their skin, their hair also has a variety of color ranging from basic reds and browns to more eccentric blues, greens, and purples. Most of these colors become more muted with age, slowly turning into a silvery grey upon reaching their elder years. Their eyes also can appear highly varied, believed to be influenced by the seasons or the flow of Leviance and density of Arcanum when born.

Perception and Sensory or Extra Sensory Capabilities
The Hym have the ability to internally store and utilize free Arcanum as that drifts through the Air and throughout the Aether and use it in ways referred to as Magic. This Arcanum is stored within a organ in the lower neck and upper chest that also aids in creating hormones and proteins used for detection of entities within their immune system, the Thyroid. Beyond their ability to use Arcanum energy, several Hym also have unique traits granted nearly exclusively to them. Some profess the ability to predict the future and can do so with high accuracy, while others claim to be able to see and speak with the dead or manipulate the world in ways outside of Magic.
Ecology and Habitat
Hym are rather tenacious and adaptable, and so long as they can eat, they will make a location their home. While they prefer and are adapted toward more temperate and coastal climates, they live in all places across Creation's Rest from the Frost Touched Wastes and the Icy waters of the northern Frigid Depths to the volcanic spires of the Selensian Fire Range .
Dietary Needs and Habits
As Omnivores, the Hym will eat nearly anything. Preference for food is highly individualized person to person, in addition to some having allergies and conditions that prevent digestion of specific foods. Hym will find ways to make near anything edible, and are usually successful in the task.
Racial Customs
Major Language Groups and Dialects
While there is not a unified Hymic Language anymore, there once was in the past. The Ancient Human Tongues coalesced into the pidgin known as Old Hymic. This eventually became High Hymic, which was spoken as the Hym spread out across Creation's Rest. From here each of the descendant languges becomes more diversified continent to continent, with each group speaking slightly different languages. The most well known modern Hymic tongue is that of Thandian Common from the Thandian region of the continent Ignaldi, where the spread of the Hymic nation of the Thandian Reach cemented it as the common language of the land.
The Hym are mostly a simple people; born and grow up, work for a few decades, have a family, and finally pass and return to the gods. Those few that rest outside of that mold, however, are the most tenacious of all the races. Alone building and felling nations with their will and might. When you have work to do, the Hym are most willing to lend a hand going out of their way to help, or should they have been crossed previously, harm.
Myths and Legends
The only connecting myth across the Hym, in addition to their descendant races, is that of the Hymic Incursion. The story tells of a world covered in cities of Steel and Glass that the Humans, those from before the Hym, had conquered. When they turned their gaze to the skies above, the world itself grew restless and begun to attack them and swallow their cities whole. Many escaped into the sky inside ships of silver propelled by fire and drifted there for generations before their arrival on Creation's Rest and the Elemental Halos. Those that landed on Creation's Rest landed within the Sea of the Ancients, and after reaching the shores of Ignaldi carved into stone the names of all who arrived in this new world and as much of their history they could recall before spreading out across this new world.
Common Customs and Observed Traditions
Aside from introducing the concept of Birthday celebrations and Coming of Age celebrations, the Hym are also known to be responsible for the first Harvest Festival across Creation's Rest. Hym will find a reason to celebrate anything, and each region that the Hym settle in eventually have several celebrations added to account for all of the activity that occurs in the area. Festivals and celebrations are how each group of Hym create their own traditions and make themselves and their culture stand out.
