Ilhuicahuatin

The Ilhuicahuatin, Divine Dwellers of the Sky

Ilhuicahuatin, or Ilhuicani, is the collective term to refer to all of the entities that are revered as gods or having godly status or power. While not all beings grouped under this name are worshiped and while some are not even gods, their innate strength or impact on the course of the Aethermaris lead their placement to make little sense elsewhere.

Apanohuacanehnemimeh, Those who walk the Deep Expanse

The Apanohuacanehnemimeh are the highest of all beings within the Aether. Having the power to manipulate reality on scale of the entire universe or beyond, their mere presence creates waves in what will be.

Nellayotlni was the first of these beings within the Aether, being the physical embodiment of it. Forged from the fabric of the Arcanic Shield to mediate the passage of other worlds from the upper planes into the lower, it draws the out the energy remaining within the passing realms, catalogs the experiences contained within, and stores Memorant Shards of realms before the end of their passage. One realm, as it passed through, saw the Forebearer into the Aether by its inhabitants. They used their advanced technology to modify the Aether, adding the Constance to it in an attempt to imprison the Forebearer. The Constance worked using the energy floating about the Aether to create beings to tire Forebearer and keep her from returning. Each creation maintained the task for eons before eventually falling, leading to a new being taking their place. Prime Duality, the latest of these created beings, was the first to be able to beat her and seal her power, even if only for relatively short periods of time. The Prime Duality eventually split into the first of the Tonalteotlcah and birthed the first true generation of them, matched with the Forebearer birthing the Foreborn Scion.

Tonalteotlcah, Claimants of the Stellar Throne

The Tonalteotlcah are the largest grouping of the Ilhuicahuatin. Originating following the splitting of the Prime Duality into Ixomiquina and Tlachmecayotl, more commonly known to the Tonallitecameh who know of them as the Mother and Father of creation, ruled over the Aether as gods for Five Cycles of Rest. Their existence was cyclical following the reawakening of the Forebearer, with each battle only becoming easier and easier due to their numbers.

Following the separation of Ixomiquina and Tlachmecayotl, their only children were Ehecatzin, Coatlmechua, Tlatemocaya, and Ahuitecpa.

Of them, Ahuitecpa, the youngest, was selected to act as the first leader of the four of them, eventually claiming the title of Tonalliteotlcuaha. The four of them began to birth the first of the next generation of Tonalteotlcah which birthed the next, eventually creating the entire pantheon of 32.

Pianimeh, Usurpers of the Machine

The Pianimeh were created by the Tonalteotlcah Tecamaquel, He who Shapes the First Blade, during the 5th War of the Sun in order to assist him in maintaining his creation. The The Mooring, later known to most as The Mooring, was a vast machine designed to replicate his armies during the war so that he could spend more time fighting himself and spend the time between fights properly resting. Not fully understanding the implication of the rules he set the The Mooring to follow, it ultimately ended up imprisoning each of the Tonalteotlcah including himself within it, using their power to bolster itself. The Pianimeh, drawing their power from the machine, were elevated to the new effective rulers of the Aether for the Sixth Cycle of Rest.

Yolliteopilli, Children of Divine Souls

Yolliteopilli are the youngest and weakest of the Ilhuicahuatin, chosen by various Pianimeh to assist them with governing their divine aspects. Tonallitecameh are selected during their life for various reasons ranging from might to knowledge to renown, and are offered a piece of a Pianimeh's Domain to control as their own in exchange for assisting in ruling said larger encompassing Domain. Ascension from one of the Tonallitecameh into a Yolliteopilli ultimately culminates in death and rebirth without forgoing the loss of their Soul, instead having it reforged into something more.
