Backstory and History

Recite

Crunk was born the lone son to the chieftain of Norval, a small village in the foothills of the Northern Rise along the edge of the Northrise Forest. The remoteness of the village combined with the intense weather lead the inhabitants of the settlement to grow to be tough not the most friendly of outsiders. They were forced to idolize strength and the ability to withstand the elements, ideals that became imparted on their young at an early age. Crunk was no exception, growing up using weapons and tools of all variety and helping with all of the menial labor the village required. Commonly Crunk would camp outside the village walls in the snow-filled forest with his father, spending the time bonding and having the chilled air forge him into a tougher young man.

He joined his village's defensive guard once he reached adulthood, helping defend the settlement from the Frost Headed Giant Worm native to the Frost Touched Wastes of the north. Quickly ascending to become known as one of the village's strongest, he moved from fighting the giant worms and other beasts and monsters that threatened Norval, to leading the fights against them, and even tried his hand at setting up new defensive structures in the frontier of Norval's territory. Regardless of actions, his heart lay in slaying the threats to his home, but as his father aged, more threats to his family begun to appear and he knew he had to take action.

He challenged his father to a duel for the title of Chieftain of their home, not to depose his father, but to protect him. His training and years on the battlefield had honed Crunk into a strong warrior, however he remained no match for the experience of his father. The fight was close, Crunk had managed to land several lucky hits, but the endurance of his father lead to his victory over Crunk, and his retention of his title. This was not at no loss for himself, with the strikes from Crunk wounding his legs and left arm severely, preventing him from having any chance against the next challenger the following week. A long outspoken member of the village had challenged his father, and due to his injuries landed an easy victory, deciding to end the former Chieftain's life over showing mercy at the end of the battle.

Crunk, devastated by the loss of his father, began to lose interest in his work. His family gone, and himself alone, he left Norval in 6023 and headed south at the end of the cold season, eventually traveling west into Esteron as a Mercenary, spending his time searching for a way to redeem himself for killing his own father.
