Description and Info

Appearance

A Wood Elnian man with a youthful appearance, his dirty blond hair matching his slightly tanned skin. He appears to be Dragon Marred, however his transformation lacks a tail, wings, or any of his limbs taking a more draconic appearance; the only change is porcelain white scale patches appearing across his body, namely his jawline, back, and extremities.
His armor, Studded Leather with sections reinforced with Dragon Scales, is colored to match his Dragon Scale Bracers. Below that, he wears common clothes, handmade during his time spent in the wilderness of Sendeliar and died green to match the shade of the trees of the region.

Backstory and History

Recite

Finarin Wildthorn was born in the tranquil woods of Eldergrove, a secluded village nestled within the heart of the Verdant Hills, a dense forest revered by his people, the wood elves. From a young age, Finarin displayed a unique affinity with nature, spending long hours with his parents, both skilled rangers and guardians of the forest. His mother, Sylvara, taught him the art of archery, while his father, Thalion, passed down ancient knowledge about the sacred groves and the rituals that kept their people in harmony with the land.

One fateful evening, as dusk fell upon Eldergrove, the peace of the village was shattered. A thunderous roar echoed through the trees, and the ground trembled beneath the massive wings of a dragon. Its scales were dark as night, and its eyes burned like molten fire. The dragon descended upon the village with a fury no one could have predicted.

Finarin’s father grabbed him and his Mother, urging them to flee into the forest, but the beast's fiery breath ravaged the village in a matter of moments. His parents fought valiantly, attempting to protect their home and loved ones, but they were no match for the beast’s sheer power. Before Finarin could fully comprehend the devastation, a burst of flame struck his parents. His mother was consumed by the inferno, and his father, grievously injured, fell with a final, defiant shout.

Tears clouded Finarin’s eyes as he watched the flames consume everything he had ever known. With nothing left but the burning remnants of his village and the haunting image of his parents’ final moments, Finarin barely managed to escape with his life. His heart shattered, and in that moment, something dark began to stir within him—a cold, all-consuming desire for vengeance.

Lost and broken, Finarin wandered the wilds, a fugitive in a world that had betrayed him. After days of aimless wandering, he stumbled upon an deserted island upon an assumedly unnamed lake, its shores untouched by civilization in millennia. It was here, on this forsaken place, that Finarin chose to make his new home. He became a hermit, dedicating himself to the destruction of dragons. Each day, he practiced his skills relentlessly, honing his archery, crafting traps, and learning ancient ways of the forest to track his enemies.

In his solitude, Finarin’s grief transformed into hatred, and hatred into obsession. He spent years studying the few surviving records of dragons—ancient texts saved from his parents' library, found in the ruins on his island home, and those he gathered from travelers who spoke of dragonkind. His heart grew colder, and his mind sharper. To the few who happened upon the regions surrounding the island, they spoke of a lone, ferocious figure—clad in the remnants of his former life, eyes burning with the fires of vengeance. He was no longer the innocent, carefree Elnian he once was. He had become a hunter, a shadow in the trees, always waiting for the day he would exact his revenge.

Now, with a sharp mind and deadlier skills, Finarin Wildthorn watches the skies for any sign of a dragon. The storm that destroyed his home may have passed, but for him, the battle is just beginning. His vengeance, long years in the making, will not end until every last dragon lies slain.

Rumors of Finarin, knowledgable of dragons, eventually made it to the heads of Clan Valeniwin, who sought him out to trade and barter for knowledge. This association built a bond between Finarin and the association, eventually sparking offers of work from Clan Valeniwin to hunt dragons and gather information. With the rise of activity from the Dragon Cult in the Southern Inari Ridgelands and Karkan Lowlands, Fritz Valeniwin requested him to seek out the druid Reidoth, an old acquaintance of Finarin, and begin investigating their activities surrounding the Dragon Masks.
