Adrian Tini-El

Adrian grew up in the town of Chasiefen. Populated mostly by High Elnians due to proximity to the Andan Tree of Life, the Elnis here mostly detested outsiders due to the subjugation and later actions of the Illistrian Sea, seeing outsiders as often encroaching on their land and way of life. Raised in Academia by his parents, Adrian was taught to be logical and listen to both sides, being careful to evaluate an argument completely before accepting or rejecting it. This focus led him to become isolated and distant from others, with his pursuit of knowledge taking a forefront in his ambition over in depth connection.

In Chasiefen, most Elnis leave the town when they near 500 years of age to explore the world. While not a tradition in the explicit sense, the people of Chasiefen urged all to step out and see the world to help them better understand their place within it, so nearly all do. Adrian was no exception, leaving earlier than most on his 400th birthday in pursuit of a friend who had left 20 years before.

He ventured across Insadmn and reached the Illistrian border just as the Korseph Rebellion began. Here, the use of magic in warfare sparked an initial interest that grew, becoming his one drive after witnessing the devastation of the Cinderfall. The use of magic to help others, to help oneself, and to fight, ignited a fire with him. Fourteen years after leaving home, he found a mentor within the city of Tarnerie in the Kingdom of Hargea. His mentor, Tarshain Gov, gave him the basics of magic and helped him find a drive for magical research. While his connection with Tarshain was strenuous due to his aversion for connection, the two worked together to give Adrian a foundation of which to launch himself into a position within the Hargean Ministry of Magical Research and Progress (HHMRP), in the city of Goldspire.

Reaching Goldspire in 6023PB, he settled into work within The Goldspire and began research. Eventually, after learning more about the cause of the Cinderfall and various Arcane Artifacts that the Kingdom of Hargea held in its position, he gravitated towards the more illusive magics, focusing his research on the Magic that permeates and constructs the Soul. Adrian became single minded in his research, and began to butt heads with his superior, a Hym by the name Ramsey Grandforce. Ramsey joined with the HMMRP shortly after Adrian, but was placed in a higher position due to his connections with the Royal Family and Tlatoani of Hargea. Ramsey was incredibly opposed to Adrian's research into the Magic of the Soul, claiming that the magic was something that Tonallitecameh, the Sentient Races, should not mess with, but Adrian pushed onward regardless of the threatened consequences as he learned more and more of its applications.

After several years of study, an experiment with Soul Magic intending to prove its use went arry, leading Ramsey to jump into action and shield Adrian from the backlash of Arcanic Energy. With his Soul burned and skin charred from the magical discharge, in a expressive fit of emotion, Ramsey demanded Adrian leave The Goldspire. Adrian left The Goldspire, bringing only the clothes on his back, some basic supplies, and a Ring that was used in his experiments as a souvenir. He traveled north from Goldspire, making his was through the eastern pass in the Range of the Twenty One Peaks that spanned the Hargean Heartlands, turning west to the north of them heading towards the Bridgerest within Lenuria, hopeful that his research would be more valued there.

Along his journey, he funded his way by completing odd jobs for the denizens of the towns and cities he passed through. Focusing on the work that utilized his magical abilities, he was able to tap into the power of his Ring and learned how to use it to bolster his own magic. Finally ending his journey in Bridgerest in the early months of 6030PB, he met a businessman by the name of Gundren Rockseeker; a Stoutmorin male who provided constant work and eventually became a close friend of Adrian, providing connection that Adrian neither needed nor sought, but welcomed. Gundren Rockseeker eventually told Adrian vaguely of a discovery that he and his brothers had made near the town of Solano, asking Adrian to help escort supplies to the town, where they would meet up and he would tell him about the discovery of the century.
