The Magic of Leviance

Leviance is the most common form of Magic within The Mooring. Stemming from the machines conversion of Arcanum into potential energy for its own use, Leviance flows through the machine much like electricity. It maintains a purple hue, and beings that are highly intertwined with the energy often have expressions of purple markings that are sharp and jagged on their body. Leviance itself is structured into bands, typically perceived to be aligned with the fundamental elements.

Leviance is contained entirely within The Mooring, with very little leaking out into the surrounding space within the Aether. Some does manage to climb up the Tether toward the Aetheric Library, but beyond that it is nearly non-existant. Beings that rely on Leviance as their source of magical energy require external sources of replenishment when leaving The Mooring.

On occasion, Leviance itself will have one of its bands arc outward, causing disruption to the area in a Leviant Surge. This surge can lead to environmental changes, the creation of Leviantouched, and temporary disruptions to Magic.
